The Struggling

The Struggling

She runs.  That is the only way she knows how to cope.  Over and over again, she runs.  Being only twelve years old, it is unfathomable to comprehend what could possibly be going through her thoughts.  She is the oldest of three children, all separated into different foster homes.  They are waiting for an adoptive family, yet she is running from any hopeful future.

She begs to leave this program, and continually asks to be admitting into a “lock down” facility.  Why, you ask?  So she won’t be confronted with her past.  She does not want to look deep inside herself, and deal with the pain she has experienced.

Unfortunately, she does not know how beautiful she is.  She is unaware of the potential she has.  Her laugh is extremely contagious, and she loves to have fun.  She is a kid at heart, yet she wants so badly to become an adult.

Many, many times we have tried.  We loved her through all the hate she gave us.  We pushed on when we could have given up.  But that must be a new concept to her, because she did not know how to deal with this kind of love and support.  She has given up.

Please pray for her.  Pray that somewhere, deep down, she begins to believe who God has made her to be.  Pray God captivates her heart, and somehow reveals Himself to her.  And pray she wakes up to the love that is staring her in the face, longing to make her whole.
