The Insecure
He is only twelve years old, yet he wants to be so much older. His younger brother is eight, and he has two older teenage sisters.
Not long ago his parents divorced and his mother took custody of him and his brother. Life was not always wonderful as his mother turned to drugs and alcohol. He and his brother were often on the streets, searching for food and shelter because their mom would not take care of them. He became the protective shield for his brother, though his brother often bullied him.
He tries so hard to be liked and accepted by everyone. He often asks many questions, just trying to engage anyone he can into conversation. He loves to brag about what he accomplishes, yet is very concerned with “one upping” the other boys. He has a secret obsession of food and will always make sure he dresses to impress.
There is hope that he and his brother will go home to live with their father. He is excited about this possibility, and hopes for it to come sooner every day.
We hope to teach him how to think for himself and the importance of self confidence. He has a lot to learn and understand, but we know he will succeed.
Please pray that his father continues to do well on his case plan and will successfully have both boys home soon. Pray he learns how to be a respectful teenager and ultimately an honorable man.
