The Graduate

Her parents divorced long ago, dividing the family and the siblings.  Abused by her father and not able to live with her mother, she was placed into the foster care system.  For a while, all communication with her family stopped.  She was only fourteen when she came to us, and already so many emotional scares had deeply wounded her spirit.

She immediately put on the intellectual façade, claiming to have abundant knowledge in any subject matter.  While controlling her eating habits in order to maintain her extremely skinny frame, she lost control of her self esteem.  She became entangled in a pit of lies, and eventually fell so deep she lost the ability to distinguish truth from lies.  She fought hard to keep control, but quickly lost the struggle.

But over time, she began to work on her heart.  She started to forgive, and as a result she started to heal.  She gave her heart completely to Christ and claimed He was her new best friend.  He gave her hope.  And over time, with much therapy, she started to rebuild the relationship with her mother.  As a result, she soon gradated our program and went to live with her mother and twin step-brothers.

Now that she is home, please pray she continues on the path she started while at HYR.  Pray the relationship with her mother continues to grow and prosper.  She will soon start public school.  Pray she makes the right choices and becomes friends with the right people.  Pray God continues to make Himself real to her, and reminds her daily how blessed she is.
