Stories of Hope

Joseph: “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.”
Genesis 50:20 (NIV)

Each one of our kids has gone through more pain than we have experienced.  Like Joseph, we have many who have been abused sexually, physically, and emotionally.  Some have been abandoned and left to rot in a hole of despair.  Others are separated from their siblings, and have lost hope of ever being reunited.  Just as Joseph was stripped away from all he held dear and forced to move on in a world of uncertainty, each day they think about their past and wonder if there is any hope for a future.

Every story will pierce your inner most being, hurting you to the core.  Each child has an ache, a longing to be “normal” again.  Their past torments their every thought and all they desire is a hint of relief.

And that is where God comes in.  God transformed Joseph’s life and gave him a hope to carry him through the worst famine.  Though every child who walks through our door seems to have lost all hope, we bring them the Hope that will last through all eternity.  Through the great Healer, the malice that each one has had cast upon them can be stripped away.  And in place of the ugly, God clothes each one with a coat of many colors; and an individual hope for a bright future.  And sometimes, He miraculously reconciles their entire family back to Him.

This is why we strive every day.  We have the wonderful pleasure to be a crucial part of each child’s life.  Please pray for each heart.  Pray that Jehovah-Rophe will heal every broken piece and comfort every aching breath.  Pray for eternal transformations.
