HOPE Ranch Learning Academy

Does your child have an IEP?
Qualify for a McKay Scholarship?
On the Autism Spectrum?

HOPE Ranch Learning Academy open it's doors in May 2005. Registered as a Private School with the Florida Department of Education, our school functions as an independent entity from the ranch. We are a McKay funded school and are now registering students.

The need for individualized attention in the areas of academics is critical to our students. Many of our students have been diagnosed in the Autism Spectrum or have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and find it difficult to concentrate for long periods of time.

Our school has a low student to classroom staff ratio of 6:1. Our program is intensive and produces results. Many of our students have quickly advanced to grade level, many advancing several grades during a few short months. Kids who had been given previous learning goals of "concentrating for 10 minutes at a time" - sit and learn for hours.

Individual Mastery Based Education

HRLA is an ACE School using the Accelerated Christian Education Curriculum. Students are tested upon admission and a individual course of study is developed for each student. Gaps in learning are identified through the diagnostic testing and these are addressed first before moving forward. Students master these gaps and move on to master grade level material.

Accelerated Christian Education's concepts are based on the following Five Basic Laws of Learning:
A child must be at a level where he can perform.
He must have reasonable goals.
His learning must be controlled, and he must be motivated.
His learning must be measurable.
His learning must be rewarded.

Based on these principles, the A.C.E. curriculum assures parents of:
A solid, mastery-based, back-to-basics education for their child.
A course of study diagnostically individualized to meet a student's specific learning needs and capabilities.
A program incorporating Scripture, Godly character building, and wisdom principles.
A curriculum using advanced computer technology to help ensure the finest education possible in today's high-tech climate.

We also integrate horsemanship, social skills training, occupational therapy, speech therapy, behavior analysis, mental health counseling and comply with the student's latest IEP.

Electives such as Typing, Spanish, French, Music, Horsemanship and Online Classes are available.

Incorporating Horses into the Learning Process
Our students participate in horsemanship classes one day a week and horse time or horseback riding on Fridays if their academic and behavioral goals have been met for the week.  We have found that incorporating horses into the learning process has been a great motivator for our students.
