HOPE Youth Ranch

Michael's Story

OUR STORY

We all know how difficult it is to hear that your child has Autism, but what is even more difficult is finding the right school to meet his/her needs.

I am proud to say that our 13 year old son is a “Star of Hope.”  He came to Hope Learning Academy because he was unable to succeed in the traditional public school inclusion setting.  There is a lack of understanding and compassion for our children and because they do not fit the image of what a “model student” is, they are not wanted in the public schools.  Our son had so many negative school experiences that he started to hate school.

He is starting his third year at Hope and with the completion of each
year, he continues to show academic and behavioral progress.  The faculty, administration, and staff continuously work in collaboration with the parents to utilize outside resources, when necessary, to ensure that they continue to meet the child's needs.  The faculty and administration have attended seminars and workshops to further develop their knowledge and understanding about Autism.  They have a sincere desire to work with our children.  Our children CAN be successful when they are in the right place with the right people who have a sincere interest in working with our children, and giving them the tools they need to succeed in the present and in the future.

The change we have seen in our son is amazing!  Let me tell you how
much he loves his school.  There were two days when school was closed due to in-climate weather.  Instead of rejoicing that he had a day off, he was genuinely upset because he wanted to go to school and do his work.  Our son started missing school a week into summer break!  This school has changed the lives of so many children in such a positive way and they want to continue their mission to help make a positive difference in the lives of more children.

I want to thank everyone at the ranch for educating our children in a safe,
loving and nurturing environment.  The children know they are wanted and loved and it shows in the smiles on their faces.

If you ever feel like there are no other choices for your child....there is hope.
Give Hope a chance
.
